Republic Day  : 26 January, 2020 In New Delhi                            Pictured above is Indian National Flag on republic day swimming in air In Indian history, 26 January is known as Republic Day. Republic day is a national gazetted holiday in India. Republic day is a national festival of India. In 2020, Republic day falls on a Sunday. National Holiday  :           As you know that Republic Day is a gazetted holiday in India. All schools,colleges, government works and government offices are closed on Republic Day. Some businesses do not make a holiday and some may reduce their time period of  their duty. What do People do ?                 A lots of people celebrate Republic day as a public ceremony. On  this day, people respect National flag  and National Song singing  the anthem  "Jan Gan Man ..." (In mother language Hindi). People celebrate the Republic Day at  schools,colleges and public places, especially children participate in this program.

Makar Sankranti :                      

Makar Sankranti is a famous harvesting  festival of India. Each year ,It is celebrated on 14 or 15 January ( date according to Hindu calendar). In 2020 ,Makar Sankranti is on 15 January (wed). Makar Sankranti is called as 'Bhogi', 'Maghi' etc. Makar Sankranti is also an ancient festival. It was started for the happiness of crops, because when farmers bring their corns after harvesting from farms then they enjoy. 
It is celebrated just after LOHRI


Date in 2019 :

Makar Sankranti was on 14 January in 2019. It was celebrated with happiness and enjoy.
The day was Tuesday.

Date in 2020 :


 Makar Sankranti is on 15 January in 2020.  15th January, wednesday will be celebrated as a Makar Sankranti in India.

Date in 2021 :

Makar Sankranti will be celebrated in 2021 on 14 January, Thursday.

Date in 2022 :

Makar Sankranti will be celebrated in 2022 on 14 January, Friday.

Kites :

It is a tradition in India to fly the kites on this festival. In south India, many contests are held to win the special gifts. It is connected to the tradition of people. In winter vacation our body suffers from many diseases or illnesses like cough and cold etc. so the rays of sun works for our body like a medicine from which our body maintains according to weather.

Reason of Kites to fly :

It is believed that in ancient era, God Shri Ram had flown the kite with their brothers and Hanuman on the day of Makar Sankranti. From that time, It was started. So it got fame in the whole world. It is may be founded in the ancient books like Ramayan.
